When giving funeral readings it can be a big help to buy a religious text that is designed for funerals that already has the correct or even a choice of passages that are ideal for readings at a funeral. These can be purchased at any religious bookstore usually; some of the larger bookseller chains may also carry a selection of them too. After you select a book, pick out a few readings that would seem nice for a eulogy to commemorate someone life.

When you go up to give the speech, remember to relax before you decide to read. Everyone in the audience is just as distraught and emotionally charged as you are. If you skip a word or mess up a little its ok, no one is going to fault you for being emotional since that’s what a funeral generally is, a public venue that you can let your emotions out at in a public setting.
